Starting off the new year, this musical is the winner of four 2000 Tony Awards including Best Musical Score with music by Elton John and lyrics by Tim Rice.

AIDA is based on the Giuseppi Verdi opera and tells the dramatic love story between Radames, the captain of the Egyptian army, and Aida, the captured Nubian princess.
