The Reunion Of Folk Pop Supergroup Cry Cry Cry
When celebrated singer songwriters in their own right Dar Williams, Richard Shindell and Lucy Kaplansky formed folk pop supergroup Cry Cry Cry in 1998, they couldn't imagine the critical acclaim and cult status that would follow the release of their one-time self-titled album. A compilation of covers of their favorite tracks by their contemporaries R.E.M, Robert Earl Keen and Ron Sexsmith amongst others, the album lives on as an under-the-radar classic of the late 90s.
Nineteen years after they first hit the studio together, Kaplansky, Shindell and Williams are back to revive their unique collaboration and hit the road on a reunion tour. They'll be dusting off original tracks from the album and bringing them to life with their trademark three-part harmonies, as well as uncovering a few new hidden gems and giving them the Cry Cry Cry treatment. Don't miss a rarefied event indeed!
