Celebrate the 400th anniversary of the Bard with the Metropolitan Ballet as they present the romance and the tragedy of literature's most iconic star-crossed lovers to Prokofiev's beautiful score.

Two families stuck in the middle of a vicious feud, a city torn apart and two young lovers caught in the middle of it all. Romeo, the youngest of the Montague clan, is depressed after falling for a girl who spurned his advances, persuaded by cousin Tybalt, he sneaks into a Capulet ball in the hopes of finding her, that is, until he sees Juliet and falls deeply and immediately in love.

So begins a tale that has gone on to become our greatest, tragic story of all-consuming love that leads to a searing, heartbreaking conclusion.
