Why See Pericles?

William Shakespeare's first adventure romance is helmed by Oregon Shakespeare Festival's incoming artistic director Joseph Haj, in a tale that defies convention, belief and trusts in the power of miracles. Pursued by an evil rival king, our hero Pericles is hunted from port to port in a range of exotic locales. Along the way, he falls in love and marries a beautiful girl; but during a raging storm, both she and their baby daughter are washed overboard. Consumed by grief, he is about to give up everything; until the power of miracles reunites them. For those who love their happily ever afters!

Pericles forms part of OSF's annual touring roster of productions, with Pericles providing the highlight of the tour.
